Behavioral based interview

This is a common interview technique used by hiring managers to ascertain whether the candidate in front of them has the required psychological ‘fit’ for their company. During the interview, the candidate is asked open-ended questions about past experiences. The candidate is encouraged to give as broad an answer as possible in their own words.

This allows the interviewer to both ask detailed followed-up questions and gauge the candidate’s emotional reactions. The process also helps the hiring manager to understand how the candidate would react to similar situations in the future. With this technique, it’s also a good idea to monitor the candidate’s body language and tone of voice.
