AI resume screening for recruiters

A single vacancy can bring in hundreds of CVs. PeopleForce screens each new application with a CV against the criteria you set for the role and gives it a verdict with the reasons behind it, so you know which CVs to read first.

How it works

How AI candidate screening works on a vacancy

You choose the vacancies it runs on and what it checks for. The rest happens as applications come in.

Step 1

Your criteria

Must haves, nice to haves and red flags for the role, written by your team or drafted with Generate with AI from the job description.

Step 2

Every new CV is screened

As each application with a CV lands on the vacancy, the AI checks it against the list.

Step 3

A verdict on every card

No match, OK, Good or Brilliant on the candidate’s card, with the reasons on their profile.

Step 4

Recruiters take it from there

They open the strongest applications first, read the reasons and choose who goes to interview.

CV insights

Every CV comes back with a verdict and the reasons for it

On a candidate’s profile, click their verdict and CV insights shows how the application measures up to your criteria. Every judgement comes with its reason, so you can check it against the CV before you decide.

    A four-level verdict

Each application gets one of four levels, with a short reason that sums up the fit. The levels are No match, OK, Good and Brilliant, and they are easy to explain to a hiring manager.

Screening criteria

Screened against what you ask for

You decide what a strong application looks like for this role. The AI checks each CV against your list and isn’t allowed to add criteria of its own.

  • Three lists. Must haves for what’s essential, nice to haves for what would help, and red flags for what would rule someone out.

  • Drafted from the job description. Generate with AI suggests up to five of each, in the job description’s language, in place of what’s in the lists. Nothing is kept until you’ve reviewed it and saved.

  • Yours to change. Edit the criteria whenever the role changes, then run prescreening again to see applications against the new list.

Screened against what you ask for

In your pipeline

Start with the strongest applications

Popular vacancies fill up with applications fast. Verdicts show up where your team already works, so the first CVs you open are the ones most likely to fit.

  • On each screened card. The verdict sits on the candidate’s card on the vacancy board and appears as soon as screening finishes, no reload needed.

  • Filter by AI match. Show only candidates rated Brilliant or Good, on a vacancy or across all your candidates. In a vacancy’s list view you can also sort by AI match, best first.

  • Screened on arrival. Applications with a CV from your career site, imports, the API and most job boards are screened as soon as they arrive.

Recruiters decide what happens next

Screening helps your team decide faster, and the decisions stay with them. The CV insights behind each verdict are marked “AI-generated — review before deciding”.

  • It never acts on its own. No candidate is rejected, moved to another stage or emailed because of a verdict.

  • Sensitive answers left out. The application form’s built-in salary expectations, contact details, gender and date of birth fields, and any field you mark as sensitive, are never sent. The CV itself, including any contact details in it, goes to our AI provider in full.

  • One verdict for the whole team. Everyone who can open the candidate sees the same verdict, and the reasons are written in your company’s default language, whatever language the CV is in.
