Employee eNPS surveys

Calculation and analysis

What eNPS shows and how to read it

One question, three response groups and a score from −100 to +100, for the whole company and every department.

eNPS calculationReading the scoreOverall and department scores

Employees rate from 0 to 10 how likely they are to recommend the company as a place to work. eNPS is the share of promoters (9–10) minus the share of detractors (0–6); scores of 7–8 count toward neither group.

Survey setup

Survey builder

eNPS is a question type, not a separate wizard: add it next to other questions, and one send gives you both the score and the reasons behind it.

  • Question types

Five types: eNPS 0–10, rating scale, single or multiple choice and open text. Ratings use ready-made scales or your own.

Distribution

Survey delivery and reminders

Invitations arrive by email, in the app, as push notifications and in Slack or Teams when the integration is connected.

  • The form opens from a personal link, with no sign-in.
  • Up to two reminders, each with its own date, subject and text.
  • Reminders go only to people who haven't finished the survey.

Who sees what

Anonymity and access to results

Anonymity is a threshold, not a switch: it's checked separately for every question, comment and segment row.

All segments
Administrator

Administrator

Sees every segment that meets the threshold. The response status next to individual people stays hidden.

Own team only
Support manager

Support manager

Sees only the results for their own reports, and isn't included in that sample themselves.

Segments below the threshold

Segments below the threshold

The name and response count remain, and the metrics are replaced with a dash. The same applies to comments.

How Pulse keeps responses anonymous

A threshold, conditions locked at launch and an export without personal data.

Anonymity threshold

The minimum number of responses needed to show results for a question or segment. From 1 to 10.

Anonymity threshold

Conditions locked at launch

Once the survey launches, the anonymity toggle is locked, so conditions stay the same for everyone who has already responded.

Conditions locked at launch

Export without personal data

The file contains no names, emails, employee numbers, managers, positions, locations, gender, age or response times.

The threshold applies to managers too

Managers see results only when at least as many of their people have responded as the threshold requires. Otherwise the metrics stay hidden.

Segments, heatmap and export

In the heatmap, each row is a segment, and the columns show respondents, participants, response rate, eNPS and engagement drivers.

  • A segment below the threshold stays in the table, with a dash in place of its metrics.
  • Open comments appear separately and follow the threshold too.
  • Any question except eNPS can be linked to one of 11 built-in drivers or your own, so you can see what the score is connected to.

eNPS isn't the only view

eNPS shows how much, not why. For that, the module has other surveys.

Breakdown by engagement driver

Engagement survey questions are linked to drivers such as recognition, growth and relationship with manager. Results show separately for each driver and segment.
