How it works
How a monthly payroll run works
The run is built from records you already keep. Your part is to review, approve and complete it.
Each run works out every person's gross pay from salary, additional compensation, adjustments and time off. Review it, sync it when HR data changes, approve it and close the month.

Entries from your records
When its period opens, the run works out gross pay from each person's compensation, time off and timesheet hours.

Review and sync
Compare each person's total with the last run. If a record changes, sync the run and see what was added or updated.

Approval and completion
Approval checks the run and locks its figures. Completing it closes the month and lets the next run start.
Payroll runs: entries
Every entry in a run comes from compensation already on each person's profile, so nothing is entered twice. Base pay is worked out in hours, and each person's total opens into its lines.

Payroll runs: proration
Pay rules are set once for the cycle and applied to everyone in each run. Proration counts calendar days or each person's working days, and paid leave is valued by the method you pick.

Payroll runs: sync
A run is calculated when it starts and then keeps its figures until you sync it. Sync recalculates it and shows what was added, updated or removed.
Sync is available while a run is in Draft or In progress. Once it's approved, the figures stay as they are.
Figures aren't typed into the run, so each one traces back to a record.
Payroll runs: approval
Approve checks the run first. Missing exchange rates stop approval, and people with no base pay or base pay of zero are listed for you to confirm. Approval then locks figures and rates.

Payroll runs: review
The Vs Prior column shows how each person's total gross moved against the last run in the cycle. Sort by it, or search by name or employee ID, to check the changes before you approve.

Payroll runs read the records HR already keeps for compensation, time off and hours, so month-end starts from data.
Time off in base pay
Approved paid and unpaid leave and public holidays feed base pay, with no import.

Hours from timesheets
Hourly and daily pay uses approved timesheet hours, for people who track their time.

Currencies in one run
Amounts in other currencies are converted at the run's rates, locked on approval.

Run exports for accountants
Export the full run to Excel or CSV, hours and components included, for your accountant.
